Producer

Château Clos Fontaine

France

Château Clos Fontaine is a tiny Thienpont family estate in Saint-Cibard, within Bordeaux’s Francs appellation. Owned by brothers Jan, Florian and Clemens Thienpont and managed by Jan and Florian, it comprises 15 parcels on east-facing hills and terraces at 80–100 metres. The vineyards are planted on asteriated limestone covered by calcareous Agennais molasses. The estate was undergoing organic conversion in March 2024, with Florian Thienpont associated with its nature-focused approach to winemaking. Its small, parcel-based character and family management distinguish it as an artisanal Bordeaux producer.
