Bilancia is a family-owned Hawke’s Bay winery founded in 1997 by Lorraine Leheny and Warren Gibson, who also make the wines. The estate is centered on La Collina on Roys Hill, with further fruit from selected Hawke’s Bay vineyards, often highlighting single-vineyard sites. Their focus today is Chardonnay and Syrah, alongside small amounts of Viognier and a limited field-blend white. Notes describe sustainable farming practices, including windbreak tree planting, though no formal certification is cited. Bilancia’s style emphasizes site expression over heavy winemaking, with hillside Syrah noted for ageability. The winery does not operate a cellar door.
