Arkenstone is a family-owned estate on Howell Mountain, Napa Valley, founded by Ron and Susan Krausz in 1988. Its organically farmed vineyard, planted across rocky volcanic soils and forested slopes, is tended year-round by an in-house team with a strong focus on soil health, biodiversity, and preserving the surrounding landscape. An underground winery, solar power, and an electric tractor reflect the estate’s sustainability-minded approach. Winemaker Sam Kaplan and assistant winemaker Roberto Alfaro oversee the wines, which are produced with patience and meticulous attention to detail. Estate wines are elegant yet powerful, combining concentration, structure, balance, and age-worthiness, while limited bottlings also draw on selected Napa Valley sites.
