Amistà is a boutique estate in Nizza Monferrato, at the heart of Piedmont’s Nizza DOCG and a historic home of Barbera. Owned by Turin entrepreneur Michele Marsiaj since his 2019 purchase of the Colombaro property, the estate works with consulting winemaker Luca D’Attoma. Its vineyards, including old vines on the Bricco di Nizza, are farmed organically and are undergoing organic and biodynamic conversion, with cover crops, organic-derived fertilizers, hand-pruning and hand-harvesting, and a strong emphasis on soil health and biodiversity. Solar-powered facilities and habitat-restoration projects reinforce this environmental focus. Amistà concentrates on low-yield, 100% Barbera Nizza DOCG wines, including Riserva, with D’Attoma favoring extended maceration and large-format oak rather than small barriques to preserve fruit, focus, balance and elegance. The estate also produces Vermouth di Torino from its Nizza base wine.
