Family-run Azienda Agricola Zidarich is based in the Carso of Friuli-Venezia Giulia, near Duino Aurisina, where Benjamin (Beniamino) Zidarich makes wines rooted in the character and traditions of his land. The vineyards lie on calcareous soils with red Karst earth, southeast exposure and elevations of 260–280 metres. Zidarich follows the concept of “vini veri” (real, authentic wines), working according to traditional local practices. Its winery, inaugurated in 2009, was built with local resources and excavated deep into the rock: the largely underground structure reaches 20 metres, extends across five floors and includes a stone-vaulted ageing area. The cellar accommodates the complete production process, while the tasting room overlooks the surrounding vineyards and the sea beyond.
