Tbilvino is a family-owned winery in Georgia’s Kakheti region, founded in 1962 and revitalized in 1999 by brothers George and Zurab Margvelashvili, who also serve as the primary winemakers. Operating two modern facilities in Tbilisi and Kvareli, it produces around 166,000 bottles annually (with exports exceeding 500,000 bottles) and sources grapes from over 400 hectares of estate vineyards. While historically a large-scale Soviet-era producer, today it focuses on indigenous varieties like Saperavi and champions traditional qvevri fermentation, though no formal sustainability certifications are cited. The winery has earned gold medals at the International Wine Challenge and is planning a ‘temple of wine’ project in Kakheti.
