Weingut Steininger is a family-owned estate in Langenlois, Kamptal, founded by Karl and Brigitta Steininger in 1980 and now involving the third generation. Eva Steininger manages sales and marketing, while her husband Peter oversees the vineyards and cellar. Certified Sustainable Austria and a member of the Österreichische Traditionsweingüter, the estate combines tradition with modern cellar technology. It focuses on Grüner Veltliner and Riesling, alongside other varietal wines, premium single-vineyard bottlings and red wines. Steininger is particularly known for traditional-method Sekt, including its distinctive “elementar” approach using natural grape sugar, estate-selected yeasts, extended lees aging and no dosage. The wines emphasize Kamptal’s diverse soils, warm days and cool nights, with a clear, mineral-driven style shaped by origin, patience and careful craftsmanship.
