Founded in 1996 by a British couple who fell in love with New Zealand, Mud House is based in Marlborough and works with vineyards across Marlborough, Waipara Valley and Central Otago. Now owned by Accolade Wines, it produces accessible varietal wines alongside limited Single Vineyard and Sub Region Series bottlings. Winemaker Krystal Palmer emphasizes respectful, minimal-intervention winemaking to preserve vineyard character, vibrancy and balance. The wines highlight South Island regional expression, from Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc to Waipara Valley and Central Otago Pinot Noir, including site-specific vineyards such as Woolshed, The Mound and Claim 431. The producer also emphasizes sustainable practices and offers wines from Chile and South Australia.
