Meinklang is a family-owned winery in Hungary’s Balaton area, run by Werner and Angela Michlits, who handle the winemaking themselves. Certified organic and biodynamic, the estate is built around a closed-circuit, regenerative approach they describe as a “wine garden,” with cover crops, insect hotels, livestock, crop rotation, minimal pruning, and biodynamic preparations used to build humus and support biodiversity. Their work reflects a hands-on, sustainability-led philosophy focused on healthy soils and balanced vineyards. Notes on their wines also point to a low-intervention style, including hand-harvested fruit, native yeast fermentations, and unfined, unfiltered bottlings.
