Mas d'en Gil is a family-owned estate in Bellmunt del Priorat, in DOQ Priorat, bought by Pere Rovira Carbonell in 1998 and now led by his daughters Marta and Pilar Rovira. The historic property has passed through several families over more than 150 years, including its period as Masia Barril, before the Rovira family restored its original name. Farming is certified organic and biodynamic, with a strong focus on biodiversity, low yields, and working the estate as a living agricultural mosaic of vines, olive trees, almonds, hazelnuts, cereals, woodland and Mediterranean forest. Its vineyards lie across five distinct valleys with slate-based llicorella soils and varied microclimates, planted mainly to Garnatxa and Carinyena. The winemaking approach is described as natural in style, aiming for wines with clear Priorat identity.
