Château Lalande is a small, family-owned estate in Saint-Julien, Bordeaux, acquired by the Meffre family in 1964 and now managed by grandsons Ludovic and Julien Meffre. Its vineyard lies on well-drained gravel and pebble soils and is planted mainly with Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot. Sustainable viticulture includes double-Guyot pruning, manual de-budding, de-leafing and green harvesting, alongside mechanical and manual harvesting. Julien Meffre is involved in winemaking with consulting oenologist Christophe Ollivier. The estate produces classic Saint-Julien wines from vines averaging 25 years old.
