HdV Wines is a Napa Valley joint venture between the Hyde family and Burgundy’s de Villaine family, a partnership reinforced by marriage and shaped by both Californian and Burgundian traditions. Based in California and centered on Hyde Vineyard in cool Los Carneros, the estate works with bay-influenced sites marked by fog and afternoon breezes that help preserve acidity. Vineyard care includes dry farming on some blocks, canopy management, cluster thinning, and organic or sustainably minded practices, though no formal certification is noted. Winemaking, led by Aubert de Villaine with Guillaume Boudet and the team, focuses on terroir expression and minimal manipulation, with some wines made without fining or filtration.
