Domaine Stéphane Magnien

France

Domaine Stéphane Magnien is a fourth-generation family estate in Morey-Saint-Denis, Burgundy, run by Stéphane Magnien since 2008. The domaine farms old vines, including parcels planted by his grandfather and some Pinot Tordu, with a strong focus on preserving living soils through ploughing, hand work, green harvesting, and the longstanding avoidance of herbicides and pesticides. In the cellar, Stéphane favors restrained extraction, modest new oak, and bottling without fining or filtration. The wines are consistently described in a style of finesse, freshness, balance, minerality, and tension rather than color, power, or volume.
