Domaine Jean-Baptiste Senat

France

Domaine Jean-Baptiste Senat is a family-run estate in Trausse-Minervois, in the heart of Minervois at the foothills of the Black Mountain. Since 1996, Jean-Baptiste Senat has overseen the vineyards and cellar while his wife Charlotte manages the administrative and commercial side. The domaine farms organically with Ecocert certification, also following biodynamic principles, with no irrigation, gobelet-trained vines and minimal-sulphur, nature-based winemaking. Vineyards lie across clay-limestone and garrigue-influenced soils, including older vines, and the wines aim for authenticity, drinkability, freshness and a clear Mediterranean identity, especially through Grenache. The style is described as honest, direct, lively and elegant, with a strong sense of terroir.
