Col Solare is a super-premium Washington label based in the Red Mountain AVA, founded with the 1995 vintage as a partnership between Marchesi Antinori and Chateau Ste. Michelle. Its identity centers on combining Washington terroir—especially the intensity of Red Mountain fruit—with a refined Tuscan sensibility. Notes describe a bold, patient, and innovative winemaking approach, with an estate vineyard designed according to Antinori family specifications used in Tuscany and Umbria. The winery is led by head winemaker Stephanie Cohen. Col Solare sits within Ste. Michelle Estates, whose ownership passed to Sycamore Partners in 2021. The producer also states a commitment to mindful, sustainable decisions and long-term community and environmental wellbeing.
