Château Virgile

France

Château Virgile is a family-owned estate in Vauvert, on the Gallician terroir at the southwestern edge of Costières de Nîmes. Brothers Serge and Thierry Baret have farmed and made the wines here for over thirty years, working 35 hectares of contiguous vineyards on Rhône-deposited Villafranchian pebbles, gravel and sand. The estate practices certified organic farming and holds High Environmental Value certification. Its low-altitude, Mediterranean vineyards near the sea and Petite Camargue produce red, white and rosé wines combining aromatic finesse with generosity. The range includes elegant whites and rosés, lively reds, and more powerful, structured cuvées such as 1748, Mourvèdre aged in barrel, alongside L’Enéide, made from the finest Syrah parcels.
