Château Mouton Rothschild is a Premier Cru Classé estate in Pauillac, Bordeaux, owned by the Rothschild family and managed by Philipe Dhalluin. Its modern identity was shaped by Baron Philippe de Rothschild, who championed estate bottling from 1924 and linked Mouton closely with art; since 1945, each vintage has carried an original artist-designed label. Vineyard work includes green harvesting, hand-picking and hand-sorting, with organic cultivation on part of the estate. In the cellar, parcel-based vinification in a gravity-feed vat room and long ageing in new oak are paired with traditional Médoc practices such as topping-up, racking and egg-white fining. Alongside the Grand Vin, the estate also produces Le Petit Mouton and the white wine Aile d’Argent.
