Quinta do Filoco is a Macedo family estate in Tabuaço, in the Cima-Corgo subregion of Portugal’s UNESCO-listed Douro. Founded by Jeremias de Macedo in the mid-20th century, it remains in family hands, with third-generation winemaker Marta Macedo leading the winery. Its vineyards lie on schist soils at varying elevations along the Douro and Távora rivers, and are planted exclusively with Portuguese varieties, including Touriga Nacional, Tinta Roriz, Touriga Franca, Malvasia Fina, Rabigato and Viosinho. The estate produces white, red, rosé and Port wines. Manual harvesting and controlled fermentation are combined with modern cellar equipment, while the winemaking philosophy preserves the experience and traditions of previous generations. The name Filoco comes from one of the estate’s vineyard parcels.
