Menade is a family-run Rueda estate founded in 2005 by sixth-generation Sanz siblings Marco, Richard and Alejandra, whose family has been dedicated to viticulture since 1820 in La Seca and Rueda. A pioneer of organic farming in the area, it works with certified organic vineyards using natural treatments such as plant infusions, ozone and whey, while encouraging biodiversity through cover crops, pollination gardens, insect hotels and the Granja Menade. Winemaking is led by Richard Sanz, with native-yeast fermentations, low-sulfur practices and an emphasis on minimal environmental impact. The estate also highlights its own Verdejo clone, re-grafted from vines over 100 years old, and a self-sufficient, zero-carbon approach.
