Gotha Spirits is a privately owned artisanal producer in Emilia-Romagna, founded and led by bartender Ergin Allko. Marketed as Gotha Spiriti Nobili, the line centers on a liqueur made by infusing fresh whole Carciofo Violetto di San Luca artichokes with other botanicals, purified Adriatic seawater, water, and sugar before filtering and bottling. The artichokes come from a small group of local farmers, and the variety is recognized by Slow Food as an Ark of Taste vegetable, highlighting its heritage. The use of locally sourced Adriatic seawater also reflects a low-impact sourcing approach. The project stands out for its focused, small-batch production and Allko’s direct role in developing the spirit.
