Familia Nin-Ortiz

Spain

Familia Nin‑Ortiz is a family-run estate in Priorat, founded by biologist-enologist Ester Nin and enologist Carles Ortiz, who combined their vineyards after marrying in 2008. Working only with estate fruit, they bottle by individual site to preserve each parcel’s identity, soils and microclimate. The vineyards are certified organic by CCPAE and farmed biodynamically, with organic inputs, biodynamic preparations, estate-made compost and animal traction in steep sites. In the cellar, the focus is equally meticulous: hand harvesting, careful manual sorting, spontaneous fermentations with native yeasts, and limited sulfur use. Their wines are made to express the distinct mineral character of their vineyards with precision and transparency.
