Edmeades is a Mendocino producer rooted in Anderson Valley and rugged coastal vineyards. Dr. Donald Edmeades planted grapes in Philo in 1963, among the first modern growers in this remote part of western Mendocino, and the winery was established in 1972 by the Edmeades family before joining Jackson Family Wines in 1988. The estate remains focused on small-batch, low-intervention winemaking, especially bold, mountain-grown Zinfandel. Edmeades also works with long-established regional sites including Gianoli, Perli, Shamrock, and Piffero, home to old Zinfandel and Carignan vines. Winemaking has been led by Ben Salazar and Dave Ready Jr. No specific organic or biodynamic certification is listed.
