Croft is a historic Port producer in Portugal’s Douro, founded in 1588 and noted as the oldest continuously operating Port house. It remains family-owned and family-managed by the Croft family. The house owns Quinta da Roêda, acquired in 1889, a Douro River estate with schist soils whose water-retentive character helps vines withstand the region’s dry summers. Winemaker David Guimaraens leads the cellar and is noted for innovation in both vineyard practices and wine styles. The provided notes do not cite formal sustainability certification for the Port estate.
