Founded in 1926 by Abel Pereira da Fonseca, Cerejeiras remains a family business managed by the next generation of the Pereira da Fonseca family through Companhia Agrícola do Sanguinhal. Its vineyards span three estates in the Demarcated Region of Óbidos: Quinta do Sanguinhal, Quinta das Cerejeiras, and Quinta de S. Francisco. The estate produces DOC Óbidos and Lisboa wines, alongside fortified wines and spirits, from varieties including Arinto, Chardonnay, Castelão, Aragonez, Touriga Nacional, and Syrah.
