Cantina Valle Isarco is a grower-owned cooperative in Chiusa, Alto Adige, founded in 1961 by 24 winegrowers and now representing roughly 130–135 family farming families. Its steep, often hand-tended vineyards around the Sabiona monastery lie at 250–1,000 metres on lean, well-aerated soils and in a dry mountain climate. The winery is especially known for expressive white wines from varieties including Kerner, Sylvaner, Müller-Thurgau, Gewürztraminer, Grüner Veltliner, Riesling and Sauvignon. Strict grape selection, controlled production, limited yields and careful refinement support wines with varietal character, structure and ageing potential. The cooperative emphasizes respect for nature, integrated viticulture, biodiversity and resource conservation, including photovoltaic power and lighter bottles.
