Tsinandali is a classic Kakhetian white-wine name with a broader protected story that also includes dry Saperavi red.
Rkatsiteli, with Mtsvane Kakhuri permitted in a supporting role.
Citrus, orchard fruit and flowers with a fresh, dry palate.
Saperavi.
Dark berries and plum with a dry, structured palate and firm tannins.
Tsinandali’s familiar white is led by Rkatsiteli, with Mtsvane Kakhuri permitted in a supporting role. The National Wine Agency’s specification also permits a dry red made from Saperavi, so the protected name is not confined to white wine. The village and historic estate provide a cultural gateway to a wider vineyard area. Check colour and grape alongside the name when exploring bottles. A cellar elsewhere in Kakheti may make Tsinandali from grapes grown in the defined microzone.
