Where it grows: Calanna, Campo Calabro, Fiumara, Villa San Giovanni and defined northern parts of Reggio Calabria.
Grapes: Permitted Calabria varieties of the appropriate colour; no fixed single grape is required.

Arghillà IGT identifies a small southwestern Calabrian origin rather than one prescribed grape. Its wines are red or rosé, with Novello expressions also recognised. Several permitted varieties can contribute, leaving room for producers to interpret the local landscape. Compare the stated blend, wine type and maturation when exploring a bottle from the hills around the strait.
