Iphofen explores Franken’s Keuper hills through Silvaner, Riesling and the vineyards beneath the Schwanberg.
Dry examples can combine a full mid-palate with orchard fruit and savoury or herbal detail; maturation shapes the texture.
A brighter aromatic counterpoint, with citrus and stone-fruit character; read the bottle’s sweetness description.
Iphofen has several named vineyards, including Julius-Echter-Berg, Kronsberg, Kammer and Kalb. Keuper formations are an important part of the local setting, with differences in slope, exposure and underlying layers between sites. Silvaner and Riesling are useful reference points, while aromatic varieties broaden the choice. This town guide is wider than any one classified site; follow the vineyard and wine type for a more precise introduction.
