About England

England’s wine country combines traditional-method sparkling wines with an increasingly varied still-wine landscape. Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Meunier anchor many sparkling blends, while Bacchus offers an aromatic white-wine introduction and Pinot Noir reveals the promise of well-chosen still-wine sites. Explore the vineyard hills of Sussex, Kent, Hampshire and Surrey, Cornwall’s maritime west, or Essex’s drier eastern landscapes. English PDO and English Regional PGI identify protected wine categories; county names usually offer geographical context, while Sussex and the small Darnibole site have their own protected identities. A winery address can differ from the place where its grapes grew. Read the bottle’s origin and production method to connect the wine to the vineyard, then use its sweetness and ageing details to choose the style you enjoy.
