Ortona DOC offers a local coastal perspective within the wider Abruzzo wine landscape. Its Rosso is based on Montepulciano, while Bianco is led by Trebbiano Abruzzese and/or Trebbiano Toscano. These are separate wine types with different grapes and characters. Nearby beaches and seafood make the white an appealing introduction, while the red brings another side of the same growing area. The town’s cellar addresses alone do not establish that every locally sold bottle carries Ortona DOC.
