Württemberg’s VDP estates offer a grower-led route into Lemberger, Riesling and the region’s diverse vineyard sites.
Blaufränkisch.
A red style with berry fruit, spice and a defined tannin structure; site and oak ageing influence its weight and finish.
A fresh white counterpoint to the region’s reds, with fruit and acidity ranging in emphasis according to vineyard and producer.
VDP is a growers’ association with its own vineyard and wine classification, rather than a separate legal wine region. This guide introduces its Württemberg members, where Lemberger—the local name for Blaufränkisch—is an important red grape. A VDP origin or vineyard designation should be read alongside the grape and wine type. It does not mean every wine produced across Württemberg belongs to the association.
