About Baixo Corgo

Dry Douro reds

Red

Touriga Nacional, Touriga Franca and Tinta Roriz.

Red and dark berries with savoury detail. Site and winemaking determine whether the wine feels supple or more structured.

Dry Douro whites

White

Malvasia Fina, Rabigato and Gouveio.

Floral aromas, orchard fruit and a fresh finish. Look for the blend and ageing details to choose a lighter or fuller style.

Where it grows: Around Peso da Régua and Mesão Frio, in the western part of the demarcated Douro.

Baixo Corgo is generally wetter than the central and eastern Douro. It is a landscape subregion within the wider wine area, and its vineyards can contribute to both Douro wine and Port.
