El Hierro offers a small-island wine journey through local white and red varieties.
Vijariego Blanco, Listán Blanco.
White fruit and citrus with freshness and a texture shaped by the blend.
Listán Negro.
Red berries and savoury notes with a dry finish.
El Hierro DO covers the whole island, with different valley and hillside settings. White grapes such as Vijariego Blanco and Listán Blanco offer rewarding discoveries, while Listán Negro and other red varieties add alternatives. The small island does not produce one uniform style. Vineyard location, grape and producer provide the clearest route into its distinctive wines.
