Amynteo, also written Amyndeon or Amyntaio, is a PDO centred on Xinomavro. Its cooler plateau and nearby lakes offer a distinctive setting for reds, still rosés and sparkling rosés. White wines from the broader area may use a different designation, such as PGI Florina. Read origin and wine type together rather than assuming every local bottle belongs to the PDO.
