Orvieto brings northern Lazio into a white-wine denomination shared with neighbouring Umbria.
Trebbiano Toscano, Grechetto.
Apple, citrus and white flowers; check the labelled type for dryness or sweetness.
Orvieto DOC crosses the Lazio–Umbria boundary. Trebbiano Toscano, locally called Procanico, and Grechetto form the core of its white blend. Dry and sweeter types offer different experiences, while Classico identifies a more focused area. The denomination is white: nearby Rosso Orvietano is a separate DOC, not the red version of this one.
