About Valcalepio DOC

Where it grows: In the defined vineyard landscape of Bergamo province, stretching through hills east and west of the city.

Valcalepio red blend

Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon.

Plum, blackcurrant and herbal spice with a dry palate and firm structure.

Valcalepio white blend

Chardonnay, Pinot Blanc, Pinot Gris.

Apple, pear and flowers with fresh acidity and gentle texture.

Valcalepio DOC’s red blend brings Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon together, while Chardonnay, Pinot Blanc and Pinot Gris contribute to the white. Its hillside setting offers a different perspective from Lombardy’s Alpine terraces and southern plains. The denomination also has a Moscato passito tradition, distinct from the separately protected Moscato di Scanzo DOCG.
