About Oltrepò Pavese Metodo Classico DOCG

Where it grows: In the Oltrepò Pavese hills south of the Po River, in Pavia province.

Oltrepò Metodo Classico white

Pinot Noir, Chardonnay.

Apple, citrus and toasted-bread detail with fine bubbles and fresh acidity; sweetness varies.

Oltrepò Metodo Classico rosé

Pinot Noir.

Red berries, citrus and lees-derived texture with persistent bubbles; sweetness varies.

This DOCG identifies traditional-method sparkling wines, with Pinot Noir at the heart of its grape requirements. Chardonnay, Pinot Blanc and Pinot Gris can play supporting roles under the specification. White and rosé expressions show different faces of the same hill country. Read the sweetness term and ageing information to understand the bottle’s style. The DOCG is distinct from Oltrepò Pavese’s broader DOC wines and the separate still-red Pinot Nero denomination.
