Rapel is a broad red-wine landscape, linking Cachapoal’s Carménère discoveries with Colchagua’s varied valleys and hills.
Dark fruit, sweet pepper and spice with a rounded palate and savoury herbal detail.
Blackcurrant and plum with firm tannins and a dry, structured finish.
Rapel is a subregion of the Central Valley, with Cachapoal and Colchagua as its two major wine zones. Warm inland sites, Andean foothills and areas nearer the Coastal Range offer different growing conditions. Carménère, Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot are useful entry points. A Rapel label can draw from this wider landscape, while a smaller valley or area name provides more specific origin information.
