Marquette.
Red and dark berries with spice, lively acidity and a firmly shaped, dry palate.
Baco Noir, Marquette.
Dark berries, earthy spice and a generous texture; individual blends and any supporting grapes vary.
This is an emerging wine area rather than a separate named VQA appellation. Winter hardiness and local microclimates influence the grapes growers choose. Marquette and Baco Noir offer distinctive red introductions from the Georgian Bay vineyard landscape. A winery may also source other varieties from elsewhere in Ontario, so producer and grape-origin details remain useful.
