Ribeiro is a compelling Galician white-wine discovery, with Treixadura-led blends and a landscape shaped by three river valleys.
Treixadura often leads local blends; Godello, Loureira and other permitted grapes vary by wine.
Citrus, pear and flowers with freshness and a gently layered palate.
Treixadura is a representative white grape for Tostado; other permitted grapes may be used.
Dried fruit, citrus peel and honeyed notes with concentrated sweetness and balancing acidity.
Ribeiro DO is especially rewarding for blends of local white grapes, with Treixadura often joined by varieties such as Godello, Loureira and others. The region also makes reds and the rare sweet Tostado wine from dried grapes. These are different styles within one protected origin, rather than a rule that every Ribeiro is a dry white. River exposure, granite-derived soils and cellar choices help distinguish producers and sites.
