Almansa puts Garnacha Tintorera’s vivid colour and character at the heart of its red-wine story.
Garnacha Tintorera (Alicante Bouschet).
Deeply coloured berry and plum fruit with firm structure and freshness shaped by the site.
Almansa DO occupies a high inland landscape above the neighbouring Mediterranean lowlands. Garnacha Tintorera, internationally known as Alicante Bouschet, is a red-fleshed grape distinct from ordinary Garnacha Tinta. It is a particularly rewarding starting point, with Monastrell and other varieties adding alternatives. Compare vineyard and ageing choices for differences in weight, freshness and structure.
