Baden’s VDP estates offer a focused introduction to Pinot-family wines and the region’s contrasting vineyard districts.
Pinot Noir.
Cherry, berries and savoury spice with freshness and fine tannins.
Pinot Blanc.
Apple, pear and flowers with a fresh palate and gentle texture.
Pinot Gris.
Pear, ripe apple and gentle spice with dry texture and palate breadth.
Baden VDP describes the regional growers’ association rather than a separate legal wine appellation. Its estates work within a much wider Baden landscape containing many other producers. Spätburgunder, Grauburgunder and Weissburgunder offer red and white starting points, while local specialities add diversity. VDP vineyard classifications concern qualifying member wines; they are not an automatic feature of every Baden label. Follow district, village and producer to make this long regional story more specific.
