Scavigna is a small Tyrrhenian-side origin with an unusually varied grape palette.
Scavigna’s white wines draw on varieties including Gewürztraminer, Chardonnay, Pinot Bianco and Riesling Italico, while its reds and rosés have different local blends. Riesling Italico means Welschriesling, a distinct grape from Riesling. The specific blend and producer are therefore useful clues. Explore this compact DOC as a separate discovery rather than assuming it repeats nearby Savuto or Lamezia.
