Würzburg brings the Main’s steep vineyard backdrop into focus, with Silvaner and celebrated sites such as the Stein.
A dry white expression with orchard-fruit and savoury notes, ranging from direct village wines to more layered vineyard bottlings.
Würzburg is a wine town with several vineyards and producers, not a single vineyard designation. The Würzburger Stein is one famous site above the city, with weathered Muschelkalk limestone. Silvaner is an inviting way to explore it, and other grape varieties add further choices. A village wine and a named-site wine can offer different levels of precision. The vineyard’s reputation does not make every Würzburg bottle the same style.
