Gurjaani gives Kakheti’s dry white tradition a protected local identity, led by Rkatsiteli from the right-bank Alazani hills.
Rkatsiteli, with Mtsvane Kakhuri permitted in a smaller role.
Apple, pear and floral notes with a fresh, dry palate and gentle breadth.
Gurjaani names a town, a wider municipality and a protected dry white wine. The protected wine is led by Rkatsiteli, with Mtsvane Kakhuri permitted in a smaller role. The municipality also contains other protected origins with different wine styles, so a Gurjaani address is broader than this particular label. Compare the white with Vazisubani or Tsinandali to explore related grapes from different microzones. Amber wines made elsewhere in the municipality have their own origin and method statements.
