Derwent Valley combines river-country vineyards near Hobart with fresh Chardonnay, fragrant Pinot Noir and a southern Tasmanian perspective.
Citrus and stone fruit with bright acidity and a layered palate.
Cherry, red berries and savoury detail with freshness and fine tannins.
Derwent Valley is a growing-area name within the Tasmania GI, with vineyards occupying selected sheltered sites rather than the whole river catchment. Chardonnay and Pinot Noir give two useful entry points, as documented by local estate wines. River influence, exposure and soils vary between vineyards. Follow the producer’s stated site and wine origin to distinguish a local expression from a wider Tasmanian blend.
