About New South Wales

New South Wales wines offer a striking journey from the Hunter’s warm valleys to Orange’s high vineyards around Mount Canobolas. Start with Hunter Semillon: taut and citrus-led when young, it can develop remarkable toast and honeyed complexity through bottle ageing. Shiraz and Chardonnay reveal another side of the Hunter, while Broke Fordwich adds smaller vineyard stories along Wollombi Brook. Further inland, Mudgee offers structured reds and expressive Chardonnay; Orange brings altitude into the conversation, with cool growing conditions suited to fragrant whites and finely shaped reds. These four origins introduce part of a much larger state wine landscape. Australian geographical indications identify where grapes grow; the producer, variety and winemaking choices explain the style in your glass.
