Carcavelos preserves a rare fortified-wine tradition on Lisbon’s western edge.
Arinto, Galego Dourado, Ratinho.
A representative white blend, with sweetness balanced by freshness and developed nutty or dried-fruit complexity; the exact blend varies.
Carcavelos is a fortified wine whose long maturation can bring dried-fruit, nut and spice notes. Arinto, Galego Dourado and Ratinho are useful names when exploring its white wines; red Carcavelos also exists. This small coastal origin is distinct from both Port and the wider Lisboa designation. Follow the producer and ageing information for the character of each bottling.
