About Velistsikhe

Where it grows

In Gurjaani municipality on the right-bank side of the Alazani Valley.

Velistsikhe is a wine village rather than a separate protected appellation. The Gurjaani specification includes it in the protected white-wine microzone, while local cellars introduce a wider range of Kakhetian traditions. The village’s cellar heritage makes it a rewarding cultural stop, but a tasting portfolio can include wines from other vineyard areas. Use the bottle’s origin to distinguish a protected Gurjaani white from other wines served or made in the village.
