Cirò Classico DOCG gives Gaglioppo a distinct red-wine origin in Calabria’s historic Cirò heartland.
Gaglioppo.
Red-fruit and spice notes with firm structure; maturation can bring a more rounded, complex palate.
Cirò Classico gained EU protection as a DOCG in 2025. It is a distinct red designation requiring at least 90% Gaglioppo, with limited Magliocco or Greco Nero permitted. This is different from simply using the older Classico wording within Cirò DOC. Check the designation and vintage to understand which rules and origin apply to a bottle.
Cirò Classico DOCG. 1 wine in Kentucky.
